CELEBRATE
TEXAS 2005 ART AND ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS
Celebrate
Texas is pleased to announce our winners of the annual Art and
Essay Contest to commemorate March 2, Texas Independence Day. The 2005
contest had winners in four geographical areas. The first place High school
winner will receive a $1,000.00 college scholarship. The second and third
place high school winners will also receive prizes as well as the middle
and elementary school’s first, second, and third place winners.
The
2005 topics for each school level were as follows:
ELEMENTARY
ART: What I Like Best About Texas.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ESSAY: Why I Am Proud to be a Texan
HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY: What Makes Texas Unique?
It
is our desire that students learn about and love their state, TEXAS. This
contest may be used as a teaching tool, a springboard for discussion,
or a home activity for extra credit.
